GUANGZHOU DESIGN WEEK is an annual international event for promoting innovation and design that takes place in Guangzhou at the end of November each year since 2006, organized by GUANGZHOU MUNICIPALITY.
Themed by “WIN BY DESIGN” this year , Guangzhou Design Week 2007 includes 5 parts , Design Expo, Forum + Conference, Awards+ competitions, workshop & Thematic Events, covering diversity of design fields such as industrial design, branding & graphic design, cityscape & architecture design, interior design and fashion design etc.
 
Guangzhou Design Week 2007 is dated on November 29th-December 4th, 2007, which has been the ever first & only design event in China, jointly endorsed & promoted worldwide by the top three design organizations, which are International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), International Council of Graphic Design Associations (ICOGRADA) , and International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI).

As the central city of Pearl River Delta, one of regions with the most prosperous economy in China, Guangzhou ranks third in terms of overall economic strength throughout the country, and then is able to offer a large stage for fast development of the design industry. When visiting Guangzhou Design Week 2006, Zhu Xiaodan, Secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, Member of Standing Committee of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee pointed out that Guangzhou Design Week is a pioneering works in China, which has a good theme, high standard, extensive impact and deep meaning, it promotes independent innovation, develops original design industry, boosts international communication, and presents charm of the design as well.

It is believed that Guangzhou Design Week 2007 will be more successful on the basis of the great achievement of GZDW2006. At that time, Guangzhou Design Week will become a wonderful carnival for designers, an interactive communicating platform between designers and entrepreneurs, an information center to share the world leading design conceptions and trends, a human resource center gathering plenty of design talent and a great city of design and creation.
